Sewer service is not provided by NCGUD in all areas — if your sewer service is provided by Metro Water and Sewer, we'll send them your information to set up your account. You'll receive a separate bill from Metro for sewer service.

Important Information

Can I receive an electronic bill?
Yes — log onto NCGUD.com and click "Pay Your Bill Online" to register your account. You'll also continue to receive a paper bill in the mail.
What are my payment options?
A bank draft is offered with no processing fee (form under Forms and Documents), or pay online / by phone (1-888-595-9259) for a 2.95% processing fee. Other options: mail, night drop, or in the office.
What do the parentheses ( ) on my bill mean?
A parentheses sign indicates a credit balance — no payment is needed.
What if I am late paying my bill?
Unpaid amounts outstanding after 4:00 pm on the due date are assessed a 10% delinquency fee. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve your obligation to pay on time.
Will my water be disconnected if I fail to pay?
Service is due to be disconnected 10 days after the due date. Reinstatement requires payment in full plus a $50 reconnect fee during business hours ($100 total after hours).
Do you read my meter monthly, or is it estimated?
Meters are read monthly via an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system. Each meter/transmitter has a unique ID that's downloaded into NCGUD's billing system monthly. Keep your meter free of obstacles (mulch, shrubs, etc.) and accessible if gated.
Why do you need my current phone number?
NCGUD attempts to notify customers of extreme usage after meters are read, planned interruptions in service, or past-due accounts due for disconnection.
I had a leak. Can I get an adjustment?
In some instances, yes, per the District's adjustment policy. No adjustment is made for a leak in irrigation or to fill a pool. You must be a customer at the residence for at least 12 months, and the leak must not have gone unrepaired for more than 3 months. See Water Usage for details.
Do I need a pressure reducer?
Where pressure exceeds 80 psi, a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) and an expansion tank on the water heater's cold supply are recommended. Irrigation systems in high-pressure areas also need a PRV. You are responsible for plumbing after the meter.
Do I need a backflow prevention assembly?
Backflow protection is required for irrigation, drip/misting systems, commercial buildings, and fire protection systems. Testing begins May 1 each year; each trip incurs a $60 testing fee, added to accounts in January. See Backflow for full details.

Responsibility Reminder

Any plumbing or water usage beyond the meter is the customer's responsibility. NCGUD reads meters monthly by computer — an employee does not physically inspect your meter each month. It is not NCGUD's responsibility to notify you of a leak on your line or to make repairs.

Symptoms of a Failed PRV

  • Pressure not holding on the gauge past the PRV
  • No reduction in pressure
  • Noises in plumbing after water is turned off
  • Reduced flow at the faucet
  • Water comes out fast, then slows considerably each time a faucet is opened
